High Tech Happy Hour Celebrates 12 Year Anniversary

High Tech Happy Hour will celebrate its 12th anniversary on August 22nd.

HTHH began in 2001 as a way for people in the technology community to gather and network. The concept was simple: no agenda, no fees, no program, and no pre-registration – just people connecting with others to leverage ideas and opportunities. HTHH has grown remarkably since then, and now draws close to 300 business professionals to each monthly event. Currently hosted by SupraNet Communications and Yahara Software, HTHH has grown to become a mainstay in the Madison community.

The Anniversary Celebration will be held at the UW Memorial Union from 5:00-8:00 p.m. and will be the biggest HTHH of the year, with an anticipated 500 guests. The event will feature free food and beer, numerous raffle prizes, and of course great networking opportunities. The Anniversary Celebration is a great time to thank the local businesses who have made HTHH possible every month by providing sponsorships and venues.

The 12th Anniversary Celebration will also be the fifth year that HTHH has teamed up with Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin. To date, HTHH has helped provide 6,423 meals to help fight hunger in our community. Just $1 can provide 3 meals for those in need.

Leading up to the Anniversary Celebration, HTHH will host PechaKucha at 7:00 p.m. on August 15th at the Monona Terrace. Join us for “Lessons Learned: Fortunes and Failures” and hear local entrepreneurs talk about their expectations, trials and errors, changes in plans, and cherished successes.

The HTHH Anniversary Celebration is one of the many events that comprise the 2013 Forward Technology Festival, which runs August 15-24th. For a full list of events visit www.forwardfest.org.
