Businesses of 8000 Excelsior Host 2nd Annual Holiday Open House

Madison, WI –– On the evening of December 7th, clients, partners, and friends gathered for a fun and festive mixer with the tenants of the Excelsior Financial Centre, located at 8000 Excelsior Drive. The annual event, which started in 2009, brought in over 200 guests. As the name implies, the structure was “open house” style. Offices were opened and guests could roam from floor to floor and office to office. Not only was it a great way to show appreciation to business partners, but it was an excellent opportunity for the tenants to meet their neighbors in the building.

This year’s event featured an open bar, three floors of hors d’oeuvres, live music, and plenty of holiday cheer. Catering was provided by Blue Spoon Catering, and the Middleton High School Symphony String Quartet performed holiday songs throughout the evening. In return for their voluntary performance, the tenants of 8000 Excelsior raised $450 to donate to their school.

Last year, there were a total of six companies participating: Baird Wealth Management, Genome International Corporation, Northern Capital Management, SupraNet Communications, Inc., US Bank, and Yahara Software. The building’s property manager, The Gialamas Company, was also a huge supporter and contributor. In addition to last year’s participants, there were three newcomers for 2010: Smith Law Office, QTI Group, and Vilas Capital Management, LLC – the latter two, having just moved into the building a few months ago.

In attendance, was owner and CEO of The Gialamas Company, George Gialamas. Walking fondly through the building, he reflected on the past: "Attending the 2010 Holiday Open House reminded me of the parties we threw in the lobby of the same building over 20 years ago. We always had a large tree made of poinsettias and it kicked off the holiday season for everyone. The tenants put together a very nice event this year and it brought back a lot of fine and pleasant memories of the development of the buildings and the Old Sauk Trails Park.”

There’s a great synergy between everyone in the building, which makes a solid foundation for planning events such as this. With the success of the open house the last two years, the tenants are now looking forward to the possibility of hosting more events that will bring people together and give back to the community.
